The Ukrainian government is trying to limit the rights of Ukrainian citizens in rallies and demonstrations. Parliament is considering a law that provides for a permit from the authorities to conduct civic actions. At the same time, the acting Constitution of Ukraine requires only notifies the government of mass actions. Now ban rallies and demonstrations can only court, not the government.
Ukrainian human rights activists strongly criticized this anti-constitutional initiative by the authorities. They are going to court to seek the repeal of the law, which restricts the civil rights of Ukrainians.
Such tendency demonstrates the wish of administration of current Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to build in Ukraine authoritarian state similar to that in current Russia. We see that current government of Ukraine is not able to deal with democratic society in this country. Totalitarianism is the only ideal of such politicians.
